Church history in post cards

Webb City Area Genealogical Society

Here are some of the nice church postcards that have accumulated at the Webb City Area Genealogical Society over the years. Above are the orginal buildings. Only First Presbyterian Church is in the same building today, at Broadway and Ball Street.

These two church buildings on Broadway are still open on Sundays.

First Baptist Church is still on Broadway at Roane Street but in a newer building.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church took over this building until they completed the new building on North Madison Street. The building is still there at Oronogo and Second streets.

Sentinel bound volumes are now in the Genealogy Room

The WCAGS has accepted ownership of the complete collection of bound volumes of the Webb City Sentinel, from 1983 (after the fire) until the final issue on Dec. 30, 2020.

Those issues can also be viewed on microfilm, along with much older issues.
