The Webb City attorney is running for an opening on the circuit court

Thursday, July 29, was Luke Boyer’s birthday and first day of his campaign to be elected as the associate circuit judge of the 29th Judicial Court, District 6.

Boyer, a Webb City attorney, told friends and family gathered at the Route 66 Events Center that he has a passion for the law and has been told he has the proper temperament to be a judge.

He said he has contemplated being a judge since earning his law degrees from the University of Arkansas and University of Missouri, and he’s been encouraged to run by colleagues and friends.

Jerry Holcomb has been the District 6 associate judge since he was elected in 2018.

Boyer said he respects Holcomb and if he hadn’t announced he won’t seek re-election, “I would not be running.” The Republican primary election will be held in August 2022.

Boyer is a 1995 graduate of Webb City High School. His office is at 311 S. Main St.

He and his wife, Laura, have four sons, Ben, Jack, Josh and Joe.
