Remembering the many previous Sacred Heart cooks and servers

Webb City Area Genealogical Society

As we prepare to enjoy the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and pies of the Sacred Heart parishioners’ labor this weekend, let’s take time to think about their predecessors who have kept this event going for 77 years.

We’re sharing some photos of cooks and church workers from years ago. Some names of those in the photos are known, while others are not.

The 77th annual Turkey Dinner will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Eating in the fellowship hall is the social way to enjoy the meal, but call-ins for carry-out are welcome. Visiting the craft bazaar and silent auction is another benefit of eating at the church.

It’s great to witness such an activity that involves generations working together and following each other through the decades.
