11 inductees join Webb City Athletic Hall of Fame

Eight individuals and three teams were inducted into the Webb City Athletic Hall of Fame during a banquet Saturday at the Cardinal Dome Commons.

The 2024 inductees are:

• Verlie Abrams ’40
• Louis Hillegus ’63
• Robert Carey ’73
• Ginger (Garrison) Gibson ’80
• Heather (Lundien) Reese ’92
• Stephanie Bunger ’97
• Beverly Jones – track and volleyball coach
• Charlie Meadows – wrestling and track coach
• 1972-73 Boys Basketball Team
• 1977-79 Boys Tennis Team
• 2004 Softball Team

It was the sixth class to be inducted since the hall of fame was established in 2016.

Three of the individuals and members of all three teams were able to attend the event. While familes received the honor for Louis Hillegus, Beverly Jones and Charlie Meadows.
