The largest Webb City High School graduation class, numbering 310, was celebrated Friday by a large crowd at Cardinal Stadium.

Speakers praised the Class of 2022 for persevering through a lot – missing practically a whole semester when the pandemic began, masks, social distancing, quarantining, virtual learning – even on snow days – and finally a frustrating microphone system that lengthened the ceremony somewhat.

On the bright side, it was a beautiful night, although a little hot. There were no clouds threatening to move the event indoors. The main grandstand was filled near capacity, as was seating on the track.

Baylor Dickinson and Connor Peterson gave speeches as representatives of the Summa cum laude graduates. Charity Brower gave introductory comments, and closing comments were made by Aidan Wiggins. Student body president Morgan Robinson had the honor of directing her fellow graduates when it was time to throw their caps.
