OBITUARY

Judy Emmert

Jan. 24, 1941 – March 25, 2023

Judith Lynn (Judy) Emmert, age 82, of Webb City, passed away Saturday, March 25, at Eldon Nursing and Rehabilitation at Eldon, Mo., following a long illness. She was born Jan. 24, 1941, in Joplin to Theodore and Ermel (Hall) Ackerman.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Charles Kendrick Emmert, and her sister, Carol Ann Ackerman.

Judith attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin and received degrees in accounting and business administration. She was employed as an accountant in the Joplin area for many years. She worked in Joplin at various places, including Sperry-Vickers Corp., Hickey Oil Co., TAMKO, Joplin Chamber of Commerce, Hookup, Inc. and Day and Zimmerman in Parsons, Kan.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Fort, Neosho, and Teresa (David) Barrett, Jefferson City; grandchildren, Selena Walls, Neosho, Mo., Jared Carey, Kansas City, Theodore Riggs, Joplin, Travis Barrett, Jefferson City; great-grandchildren Valerius, Gwendolyn and Lizabet Walls; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Terry and Ada Emmert, Riverton, Kan., sister-in-law Janet Emmert, Joplin,and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Judith was a member of Forest Park Church of Joplin. In a private ceremony, she will be reunited with her husband at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
