We know Martha Ball is far right on the back row and that her sister, Margaret Ball is far right on the front row. (They’re kinda dressed alike.)
Martha and Margaret were the two oldest children of Charles and Sylvia (Flournoy) Ball. They were the grandchildren of George W. and Martha Ball and Thomas and Sarah “Tade” Flournoy, residents of Webb City.
Cedar Bluff School was located near Cedar Bluff Cemetery, which is still on the south side of Baseline Road near County Lane 194.
On Nov. 4, 1969, the Carthage Press reported that the old Cedar Bluff School building had recently been destroyed by fire. It had long ceased being a school and had been used to store hay before it burned
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
