16:32 – An officer was dispatched to Walmart for a report of theft of property.
Wednesday, Jan. 24
16:20 – Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of S. Madison St. for a disturbance. The investigation revealed a juvenile was assaulted.
Saturday, Jan. 27
13:35 – Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of W. Daugherty St. in reference to a possible disturbance in progress. One 72-year-old female was transported to Freeman West for a 96-hour-mental evaluation.
15:14 – Officers were dispatched to Dollar General, 1510 S. Madison St., in reference to a theft in progress. One 57-year-old male was arrested.
16:47 – Grandparents came to WCPD because their 24-year-old grandson was missing from the Sleep Inn.
21:21 – Officers responded to 421 W. Third St. in reference a past-tense theft.
22:36 – An officer was near the intersection of Madison Street and MacArthur Drive when I observed a truck doing a burnout in the McDonald’s parking lot and a burnout through the stop sign at Oakland Street and MacArthur. A traffic stop was conducted but the vehicle fled. A 41-year-old female was arrested and a male driver was mailed citations due to him fleeing the scene.
Sunday, Jan. 28
03:04 – An officer responded to 1604 Ellis St. Apt 50 for a disturbance. A 19-year-old female was cited for assault and making a false report.
13:02 – Residents reported hearing shots fired during early morning hours in the vicinity of Homestead and Michaela drives. Officers were dispatched and damage to city property was found.
13:36 – An officer was dispatched to Fifth and Oronogo streets for a two-vehicle, non-injury crash.
14:42 – A call was received in reference to a vehicle crash at Zips Car Wash.
20:05 – Officers conducted a traffic stop at Hall and Vine streets. A 20-year-old male was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.
Monday, Jan. 29
05:47 – I received a call for service at 1836 S. Oronogo St. in reference to a stolen vehicle.
10:04 – Officers were dispatched to 1608 S. Washington Terrace in reference to a theft in progress. The male suspect was not located but information was gathered.
12:45 – I was dispatched to Atwoods for a theft.
13:21 – An officer was dispatched to 401 N. Liberty St. in reference to harassment. A 21-year-old male was taken into custody.
14:14 – I was dispatched to WCPD in reference to a report of fraud at 1832 Chickadee.
15:50 – I received a call for service in the 2000 block of Stadium Drive in reference to a medical with call for service. A male was subsequently transported for mental evaluation.
16:04 – Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of W. Seventh St. in reference to a suicidal subject. A 72-year-old male was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin for a 96-hour mental commit.
19:32 – I was dispatched to the intersection of Hall and Cottonwood streets regarding vehicle striking a tree, with no injuries.
Tuesday, Jan. 30
04:01 – I took a report of a bicycle that was stolen from the front yard at 708 N. Tom St.
06:26 – I arrived at 1005 W. Daugherty St. for a stolen bicycle. The caller reported his electric bike was stolen from the residence, and in it’s place, the suspect left a Huffy beach cruiser. The stolen e-bike was located in the 400 block of N. Tom St. The beach cruiser was placed in evidence until the owner can be located.
07:25 – I was dispatched to 420 W. Vine St. in reference to a person operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner.
11:10 – I was dispatched to the 2000 block of Stadium Drive for a psychiatric patient having an episode. The subject was taken to a hospital.
13:47 – I was dispatched to a suspicious person call at Hall Street and Fountain Drive in reference to a male prowling and looking around residences. Upon contact, the male fled on foot, he was located and arrested for outstanding warrants.
18:25 – Officers were dispatched to First and Jefferson streets for found property, which was recovered.
Wednesday, Jan. 31
– An officer responded to 1011 Nelson St. for an animal complaint.
07:52 – An officer initiated a traffic stop near Seventh and Madison streets for a lane violation. One 55-year-old female was arrested for driving without a license.
10:25 – Officers were dispatched to 332 S. Roane St. in reference to a male subject climbing through the window of an abandoned house. One 30-year-old male was arrested for trespassing, resisting, assault on law enforcement and property damage.
11:30 – A officer was dispatched to Hatten Park in reference to found property.
18:24 – Officers were dispatched to 400 N. Roane St. in reference to a past-tense domestic. A 24-year-old male was arrested on a Jasper County warrant.
Thursday, Feb. 1
– I was dispatched to WCPD in reference to a found bicycle at 518 W. Vine St. It was placed in evidence.
01:00 – Officers responded to 4575 E. Zora St. in referance to a check on well-being. One female was arrested for DWI-D and possession of a controlled substance.
08:40 – I took a report of stealing that occurred at 8 a.m. 826 W. First St. Video evidence of the incident was available and the male suspect was identified and charged for the theft.
09:15 – I took a walk-in report for fraud in the 600 block of S. Pennsylvania St.
17:51 – Officers were dispatched to 1101 Mineral St. in reference to property damage past-tense. Charges for property damage and trespass will be sent to the municipal prosecutor on a 65-year-old male.
19:55 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Main and Third St. for expired tags. A 19-year-old male was placed into custody for driving while revoked.
22:44 – Officers were dispatched to 1732-34 Redwood Drive for a suspicious person trying to open vehicles. A 29-year-old male was taken into custody for a Webb City Warrant.
Friday, Feb. 2
– I was contacted at WCPD in reference to a found item at Hatten Park.
07:50 – An officer was dispatched to 3637 E. Enterprise Avenue in reference to a past-tense theft.
12:00 – An officer was dispatched to WCPD in reference to a found item.
13:16 – I was dispatched to 701 N. Liberty St. for a warrant confirmation. The suspect was taken into custody.
15:57 – I received a call for service at Walmart in reference to theft of merchandise.
16:29 – I received a call for service at Security Pawn, 1901 S. Madison St., in reference to a subject locating his stolen property there.
Saturday, Feb. 3
01:01 – I located an unoccupied stolen vehicle in the 1400 block of Nelson Street.
09:58 – I was dispatched to WCPD in reference to a found check. The reporting person advised they found a bank check in the roadway near Ball and Daugherty streets.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
