Webb City High School held an indoor picnic in the Cardinal Dome Thursday to honor freshmen who as eighth graders a year ago scored at the advanced level on all portions of the MAP test.
Principal Jeff Wilkie and assistant principal Jeff Brown grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Besides eating lunch, students played games and were awarded medals and certificates. Parents of many of the students also attended.
Five seniors will be honored for getting straight “As” on all of their end-of-course exams as part of Academic Awards Night, at 6 p.m. Monday, May 6, at the Barton Performing Arts Center.

The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
