The Cardinals enjoyed a 78-63 win against Glendale for homecoming but have a couple of road losses to make up for.
They’ve got another road game, at Republic Friday, before returning to the Cardinal Dome Tuesday to take on Carthage, which will be a “double header” with the girls teams.
Holton Keith had a homecoming night to remember. First, he was crowned homecoming king. Then he set a personal scoring record with 37 points against Glendale. He only missed four shots.
According to Webb City Cardinals Network’s Tim Workman, Keith set a new scoring record in the dome. His 37-point night was the sixth highest in team history.
Eli Pace had 10 assists to go along with his 23 points. And Slade Hurd sunk three threes for 9 points.
On Saturday, the 10-9 Cardinals fell to Fair Grove 78-48 at Mission University in Springfield.
They went back to Springfield Tuesday, where they were defeated by Kickapoo 80-37.
The Lady Cardinals’ seven-game winning streak was broken with a 55-44 loss at Kickapoo Monday. On Thursday, they’ll be looking to strart another streak as they visit the 11-8 Republic Tigers.
They’ll be back in the Cardinal Dome Tuesday against 9-10 Carthage.
Last Thursday at home, the Cardinals shot 8 of 12 from the field in the second half to finish 40-28 against Glendale.
Whitley Keith led Webb City with 10 points – all in the second half. Adalyn Maxwell was 2-for-2 from the field and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line to score 8.
According to Tim Workman, of Webb City Cardinals Network, the girls’ current 13-6 record is the best start for a Webb City girls team since the 2014 squad started 15-3.
