If you walk or drive on Daugherty Street, it’s likely you won’t miss the new digital sign that’s recently been installed.
The Webb City Senior Citizens Center and the city officials will use it to make announcements.
The Webb City show choirs continued their winning spree Saturday, this time at the Nevada Show Choir Classic.
In the finals, the Webb City Singers were judged the grand champions and won the best choreography trophy.
Bella Vocé was third runner-up.
The Webb City Singers also took second place in the 5A division during preliminary competition.
In the 5A preliminaries unisex division, Bella Vocé won second and best show design.
DoMENance won third place in 5A preliminaries.
Webb City’s three state qualifying wrestlers will receive a proper sendoff Thursday morning as they leave for Columbia.
At 9:50 a.m. students and staff will step out of their homerooms to celebrate the wrestlers as they walk through the halls to the bus.
Maddie Barchak is the school’s first girl to go to state. She placed third at 160 pounds in the Class 2 district.
Louden Bolinger, at 215 pounds, took second place in the Class 3 District 3 tournament.
And Jordan White, at 285, placed fourth at district.
The state championships will be held Friday and Saturday at Mizzou Arena.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
