OBITUARY

Tommy Bonebrake

Dec. 29, 1936 – May 9, 2025

Tommy Leo Bonebrake, 88, of Webb City, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Freeman Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Tommy was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Pineville to William and Pansy Bonebrake. He was a lifelong area resident and a man known for his integrity, work ethic, and devotion to his family and faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Terry Bonebrake. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Hattie Mae Bonebrake; his daughter, Lisa Kay Hopson, and her husband, Andrew Gail Hopson, of Gainesville, Fla.; his brother, Jerry Bonebrake, and sister-in-law, Faye; his sister, Billie Allman, and brother-in-law, Jack; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Tommy began his career as a school teacher and basketball coach before entering the business world. He served as director of sales at Webb Corporation for many years, earning the respect of clients across the country with his honest approach and dedication. He also co-owned and operated Kozy Kamp, a popular canoe resort on the Elk River, with Hattie, Jerry, Faye, Jack and Billie. For more than two decades, they welcomed campers from near and far, creating lasting memories for generations of families at the resort begun by his parents in 1963.

A longtime member of Webb City Church of the Nazarene, Tommy lived out his faith in quiet service and generosity. He was a devoted husband, father and friend.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, he also enjoyed fishing and good conversation. He loved watching birds and squirrels from the backyard he and Hattie tended together. More than anything, he treasured time spent with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter and the simple joys of life.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 pm Thursday, May 15, at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at the same location. Burial will follow at Pineville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pineville Cemetery.

OBITUARY

Dorothy Hall

June 27, 1924 – May 6, 2025

Dorothy G. Hall, age 100, of Webb City, passed away on Tuesday May 6, 2025.

She was born on June 27, 1924, in Cassville, to the late William and Jewel Doty.

She married John A. Hall on March 27, 1942, and to that union was blessed with two children.

Dorothy found joy in many hobbies like gardening, canning, sewing, bird watching and foraging. She loved children. Dorothy surrounded herself with photos of her family and other people she had grown to love.

Dorothy often referred to herself as A Pioneer Lady. She knew how to forage and survive off the land. Her favorite thing to do was to walk out into the pasture and pick green edibles (we call them weeds) and prepare them for dinner. She loved to can pear honey and make blackberry cobbler from blackberries she harvested in the pasture.

She wanted you all to know that she was ready to go “home” to be with her heavenly family.

Preceding Dorothy in death are her husband John; her daughter, Dorothy Sue Elliott; her mother, Jewel Morriss Doty; and her father, William Doty; her brothers Raymon Doty, Bill Doty and Ernest Doty; and her sisters, Mae Doty, Lorene Worden and Charlene Lawson.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Hall Spangler and husband Paul Spangler, of St Louis; two grandchildren, Jeff Spangler and wife Cardelle, Evanston, Ill., and Jen Spangler Williamson and husband Leo Williamson, Frankfort, Ky.; great-grandchildren Noelle Catherine Spangler, Charlie Bratton Spangler, Lucas Hall Williamson and Amelia Mae Williamson; and her brothers, Bob Doty, of Alabama, and John Wayne Doty, of Washington State.

A funeral service was held Monday, May 12, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
