Cardinal Stadium was this year’s site of the Southwest Area Special Olympics Track and Field Meet.
“Don’t give up!” was a common cheer as more than 300 competitors from 14 school districts competed in track and field events.
They also received encouragement from KC Wolf and the high school band.
About 120 high school students volunteered to help manage the meet.
Some of the winners will advance to the state meet later this month at Kirksville.
