Soccer Cardinals end season in semifinals with loss to Willard

Webb City lost a tough semifinal match Wednesday 4-0 to Willard, the Class 3 District 6 host school.

The game started off as a defensive battle, with Addie Brown making three big saves in the first half to keep the game scoreless at halftime.

The Lady Cardinals’ only scoring chance came from Sammy Gallardo’s assist to Avery Allen. Willard’s goalie got her hands on the ball at just the right moment to prevent the score.

After that, Willard went on to score four unanswered goals within 15 minutes. The game ended with 14 minutes left due to a weather delay.

The Lady Cardinals Soccer season came to an end with a 9-9 overall record. The team says goodbye to five seniors.
