Cards win two of three swim duals

Webb City got two team wins during the quad meet it hosted Tuesday with Nevada, Joplin and Thomas Jefferson.

The Cardinals defeated Thomas Jefferson 33-23 and Joplin 33-29. Nevada, with more depth and a lock on the relays, scored more than 90 points against each of the other teams.

Dalton Spence won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.74 and took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.41).

Oliver Thompson won the 100 butterfly (59.46) and 200 individual medley (2:19.73).

Riley Hubard was second in the 100 freestyle (1:00.72).

Senior night will be held in conjunction with the Red Bird Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11.
