Softball season ends in district semifinals

No. 1-seeded Webb City started districts with a 20-0 blast over Ruskin, but fell Friday in the semifinals 7-3 to the Belton Pirates.

The fourth-seeded Pirates wound up winning the Class 4 District 7 tournament at Carl Junction with an 8-7 win over McDonald County.

The Cardinals’ season ended with a 24-10 record.

Coach Kathy Harris is saying goodbye to eight seniors, Avrie Allen, Karsyn Cahoon, Lily Hall, Jo Jarmin, Alexandra Maturino, Elizabeth Rhuems, Kylee Sargent and Kyley Senter.
