The CPKC Holiday Train will arrive at Union Depot in Joplin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29.
The special train combines an engine and train cars decorated for the season. One of the center box cars converts into a stage for a live 30-minute holiday music performance by Smash Mouth and J.J. Wilde.
The 2025 CPKC Holiday Train is touring Canada and the United States while raising money, food, and awareness to support food banks across the communities it transits. CPKC donates to the local food bank at each stop and encourages attendees to donate monetarily or heart-healthy food.
Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $26 million and collected approximately 5.4 million pounds of food for community food banks in Canada and the U.S.
Parking is limited in the Union Depot area. The rough natural terrain can be challenging for people needing assistance. Patrons are asked to access the Union Depot grounds from “B” and N. Main Street.
