Miners deducted from their pay to provide benefits

Oronogo Mutual Miners in a Benefit Association

Some nearly 200 men connected with the Oronogo Mutual mines have organized a mutual benefit association, by which they pay in 25 cents per week, dating from Saturday of last week.

As benefits, sick insurance is guaranteed, financial assistance is pledged to distressed families, and in case of death in the family of the insured, floral remembrances are provided for funerals.

WCAGS members staff the Genealogy Room on the third floor of the Webb City Public Library. Current hours are noon to 4 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month in the Genealogy Room.
