James Dennis “Dennie” Erwin, age 78, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, in Carthage after a full and meaningful life. He was born on Feb. 1, 1947, in Webb City and lived a life grounded in faith, family, service and love.

He grew up in Carthage, where he developed the values that would guide him throughout his life. His strong work ethic, humility, and integrity were evident in all he did.

Faith was central to his life. In 1977, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, a decision that shaped the rest of his life. He was actively involved in his church, serving in many capacities over the years, including teaching Sunday school, greeting congregants on Sundays and helping with a church plant.
