Jackie Jackie Lynn Woodrum Dauherty Allmendinger was born Aug. 19, 1962, in Neosho, to Sterling Woodrum and Neva June Lewis Woodrum. She spent most of her preschool years on her parents’ farm east of Granby. Her family moved into a house at the edge of Golden City when she and her brother, Tim, started school. Jackie’s father was a teacher and later a school administrator for Golden City schools. Jackie went to Golden City school through to her junior year in high school. She and her parents moved to Riverton, Kan., where Jackie started and completed her senior year of high school. Jackie graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1984, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in education. She later went on to obtain her master’s in education from Pittsburg State University and a master’s in Spanish from Missouri State University.
Jackie taught at Parkwood and Memorial high schools in Joplin for 10 years. Her love was teaching Spanish. She also taught English at Joplin. Jackie then transitioned to teaching at Webb City schools, first teaching at the junior high and then the high school. Jackie taught Spanish at Webb City for 30 years. Jackie retired from Missouri schools and went on to teach Spanish at Oswego, Kan., and Columbus, Kan.
Jackie met Bryan Daugherty while still in high school, and they were married on June 6, 1981. Together they had two children, Kayleigh and Colin. Jackie and Bryan were married for 30 years.
Jackie and Michael Allmendinger met in 2013. They enjoyed going to church together and were married on Oct. 31, 2015. Jackie and Michael enjoyed camping, the outdoors, and spending time with Nelson, the Bernese mountain dog they adopted in May 2021.
Jackie passed away on Dec. 13th, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bryan; and her mother and father-in-law.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Kayleigh; son Colin and his wife Cristiana; granddaughter, Rosalyn; her brother, Sterling “Tim” Woodrum; many cousins. Her husband, Michael, also survives.
Jackie touched many lives in her 43 years of teaching and will be missed.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 at Connect Christian Church, 103 Hodge Drive, Carl Junction. A celebration of life will follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory.
June 29, 1965 – Dec. 18, 2025
Shawn Beck, 60, of Jasper, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, at his residence.
Shawn was born on June 29, 1965, in Cassville. He had resided most of his life in the area.
He was a custodian at the Webb City R-7 School District for many years, he also was a meat cutter for Ramey’s, which later became Price Cutter, and most recently at King Cash Saver in Carthage.
Shawn loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren, who were the center of his world. Some of his happiest moments were spent exploring the farm he called home alongside his grandchildren –teaching, laughing, and making memories that will be cherished forever.
Sundays were reserved for family, football, and tradition, as he proudly cheered on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs alongside his wife and son. Those simple moments –rooted in love, togetherness, and joy –meant everything to him.
He also enjoyed collecting various things, going to auctions, building things and supporting his St. Louis Cardinals
He married Joy Frye on April 12, 2012, in Joplin, and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Connor McGwire Beck, of Jasper; one daughter, Katie (Brett) Hartzfeld, of Webb City; his mother, Brenda Robberson Beck, of Joplin; one sister, Traci Leigh (Brian) Thorne, of Henrico, Va.; two grandchildren, Addyson Standefer and Aidan Standefer; a nephew, Adam Thorne; and a niece, Abbie Thorne.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Max Elliott Beck.
A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held at a later date for friends and family to gather. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.

A celebration of Jamie Black’s life has been set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, at Servant’s Church.
Jamian Edward Black, born on April 23, 2000, in Joplin, passed away on Dec. 3, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. His infectious spirit and enduring positivity touched the lives of many, leaving a mark on all who knew him. His love for soccer, an interest nurtured from a young age, was only surpassed by his passion for truck driving.
Jamie’s heart was in service of others. After the passing of one of his childhood friends, Jamie stood beside his friend’s mother through her time of loss.
Jamie’s dedication to hard work and his relentless motivation made him a respected figure in his field. His depth of knowledge in trucking not only earned him a coveted promotion in the Army Reserves but also helped him travel to places far and wide. Jamie was a caring soul, always ready to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Samantha Black; his two sons, Ezra and Luke; his parents, Rebecca and John Black; his sister, Heather (Kevin) Walker; his brothers, John Black and Landon Black; his grandfather, Doug (Margie) Hixon; his grandmother, Sonya Hopkins; three nephews; and one niece.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, at Servant’s Church in Webb City, with Pastor Ben Johnson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home.
May 7, 1945 – Dec. 17, 2025
John Garrett passed away on Dec. 17, 2025, in Joplin, at the age of 80. Born on May 7, 1945, in Joplin, John’s life was a testament to the love and laughter he brought into the world.
After graduating from Carterville High School, he took great pride in racing horses and then became a traveling fruit salesman. He then dedicated many years to Protein Solutions in Joplin, where his commitment and demeanor made him a well-respected figure within the company.
John is survived by his two daughters, Heather Garrett, of Joplin, and Robyn Kolb & Troy, of Hiawatha, Kan.; two sons, John Coffman, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Chad Garrett, of Diamond. His legacy continues through his nine grandchildren, Avery Parker, Ty Kennedy, Trent Kolb, Krystal Callorez, Caycee Dawn Coffman, Keshia Erbe-Wheatley, Chance Wheatley, Jodie Howard and Carlie Howard, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
John was an avid outdoorsman, with a passion for the serenity of the woods and the thrill of the hunt. His love for the lake was only matched by his enthusiasm for the Denver Broncos. A cold beer in hand and a Broncos victory were the simple pleasures that made his day shine. His sense of humor and nature were infectious, and he was often the source of laughter in any gathering.
Those who knew John will remember him as a man who lived life to the fullest, with a smile on his face and kindness in his heart. He was a beacon of light for his family, a loyal friend to many.
John’s life was a beautiful journey that touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the memories he created with those he loved. As we say goodbye to John Garrett, we celebrate the love, laughter, and joy he brought into our lives. Arrangements were under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Sept. 19, 1942 – Dec. 20, 2025
Ronald D. Sallee passed away on Dec. 20, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on Sept. 19, 1942. He was a graduate of Casey High School in Casey Ill.
Ronald proudly served in the U.S. Army, an experience that helped shape his strong work ethic and lifelong sense of responsibility. Following his military service, he built a long and respected career as a mechanic, working in the trade for over 30 years. He was known for his skill, dedication and willingness to lend a helping hand.
He was a dedicated member of Independent Bethel Baptist Church in Joplin.
In his personal life, Ronald enjoyed the outdoors and found great pleasure in fishing and camping. These activities brought him peace and were often enjoyed with family and friends.
Ronald is survived by his son, David Sallee, and daughter-in-law, Amy Sallee; his grandchildren, Buddy Sallee, Chelsie Sallee, Matthew Sallee and Cory Thrasher; his great-grandchildren, Cooper Sallee, Kailyn Sallee and Paisley Sallee; and his siblings, Kathy (Earnie) Peters, Connie (Floyd) Castillo and Laura (Merle) Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maxine Sallee; his wife, Geraldine (Schrader) Sallee; and his recent wife, Ruby (Petty) Sallee; his brothers Bill, Garry and Roy Sallee; and his sister Carolyn Oakley
Ronald will be remembered as a hardworking, dependable man who lived a life of service to his country and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
