Lady Cardinals soccer kicked off the season hot at home Tuesday with an offensive shutout against the Carl Junction Lady Bulldogs.
Dakota DeGraffenreid scored the first of Webb City’s 3 goals with a strike down the middle in the 10th minute.
Webb City’s offense had some other shots on goal in the first half but didn’t see the net again until the second half. Avery Allen extended the lead to 2-0 in the 61st minute.
Anisley Cranford earned the final goal of the game in the 70th minute.
Webb City returns home Thursday, March 26, to play McDonald County.
Back to basketball, junior Abby Sargent has been picked by coaches as the Central Ozark Conference‑West Player of the Year.
Fellow junior Addie Burns joined Sargent on the league division’s first team, while sophomore Brecklynn Sargent was a second-team pick.
