Wednesday, July 8
06:00 – I was dispatched to the 1900 block of Redbird Drive for a two vehicle, non-injury crash.
Friday, July 10
00:44 – An officer on patrol observed a black Chevy Avalanche with license plate violations at 16th and Madison streets. A citation was issued for driving while suspended.
Saturday, July 11
23:15 – An officer conducted a suspicious person stop at 118 S Hall St and as result one adult female was arrest for an outstanding warrant and a report was created.
23:58 – An officer observed a scooter with no rear lights at Main Street and MacArthur Drive. A 49-year-old male was arrested for DWI, driving while revoked and possession of a controlled substance.
Sunday, July 12
12:46 – I was dispatched to 21 S. Main St. for a report of threats with a firearm.
13:10 – An Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of S. Alpine St. in reference to a juvenile issue. The juvenile was transported to the Jasper County Juvenile Office for a four-hour safe keep.
22:13 – An officer observed a vehicle driving north on East Street near Flat Creek restaurant at a high rate of speed. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, however, it continued to be driven at a high rate of speed past the intersection of Daugherty and East streets and continued north on East Street. The vehicle passed Jillian Lane and appeared to pull over on the shoulder before accelerating back onto the roadway. The vehicle continued forward at a slow rate of speed and turned onto Sharon Drive, where it stopped. As the officer was exiting his patrol vehicle, the vehicle accelerated back onto the roadway and slammed on its brakes. The driver was taken into custody for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and a report was taken.
23:09 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Fountain Road and Brewster Lane for an equipment violation. The 34-year-old male driver was arrested for driving while revoked and driving while intoxicated.
Monday, July 13
01:10 – An officer conducted a traffic stop for speed at Range Line Road and Zora Street. A 46-year-old male was arrested for DWI.
07:25 – Officers received a call for service in the 300 block of S. Liberty St. in reference to a female not breathing. Officers, fire department personnel, and Mets personnel arrived on scene. Attempts were made but were unsuccessful to revive her. She was turned over to Simpson Funeral Home.
16:18 – I received a call for service at 13th and Madison streets in reference to a motor vehicle accident.
16:40 – Officers were dispatched to the area of Range Line Road and Zora Street in reference to a motor vehicle collision.
18:24 – An individual came to WCPD to report a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of MacArthur Drive and Main Street.
18:39 – Officers responded to 715 Levi Lane for a disturbance in progress. Citations for property damage and assault have been issued.
19:36 – Officers were dispatched to 715-B Levi Lane for an intoxicated driver. The suspect vehicle was located at 306 N. Main St. and one female was taken into custody for DWI-alcohol.
Tuesday, July 14
06:24 – Officers were dispatched to the intersection of MacArthur Drive and Powell Drive for a motor vehicle collision.
08:52 – Officers were dispatched to 519 N. Devon St. for a stolen vehicle.
11:22 – An officer took a walk-in report for fraudulent use of a credit device at 1801 Kent Drive.
12:40 – Officers were dispatched to Sleep Inn & Suites, 221 S. East St., for a drug-related call. As a result, 6.8 grams of a white crystal-like substances was seized.
13:25 – An officer took a call for animal cruelty at 604 W. Daugherty St. A female was later taken into custody.
13:51 – I received a call for service in the 600 block of Madison St. in reference to motor vehicle accident.
20:38 – An individual came to WCPD with a bondsman to turn himself in and bond for an active warrant with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
22:43 – Officers were dispatched to 501 S. Pennsylvania St. for a leaving the scene accident. The suspect vehicle was located at Walmart. One male was taken into custody for driving while suspended and warrants.
22:47 – An officer was dispatched to contact a subject via phone in reference to a possible sexual abuse that occurred in our city.
Wednesday, July 15
14:05 – A male was taken into custody for disrupting a judicial proceeding at Municipal Court.
Thursday, July 16
04:46 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of MacArthur Drive and Hall St. The vehicle fled the traffic stop and officers pursued the vehicle into Joplin. The driver of the vehicle bailed and fled from officers on foot near the intersection of E Street and North Pearl St. A perimeter was set up, but the suspect was unable to be located. As a result, charges for aggravated fleeing and resisting will be sent to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.
05:56 – Officers were dispatched to the roundabout for a two-vehicle, non-injury crash. Before our arrival, one party ran from the scene.
10:19 – An officer was dispatched to 410 N. Webb St. in reference to tampering of a vehicle that took place during the overnight hours on July 15.
21:58 – Officers were dispatched to Main and Second streets for a reported careless driver. The vehicle was located at the intersection of MacArthur Drive and Oronogo Street, where a 24-year-old male was taken into custody for DWI- drug, and a report was taken.
Friday, July 17
09:59 – Officers were dispatched to Casey’s, 337 S. Main St., in reference to fraudulent use of a credit device.
11:17 – An officer was dispatched to Amcor, 3210 N. Progress Avenue, for threats call.
Saturday, July 18
22:00 – A traffic stop was initiated at the intersection of Fourth and Madison streets, where a 24-year-old male was taken into custody for operating a motor vehicle on a city street without a valid driver’s license.
