The Webb City High School Class of 1966 recently held its 55-year reunion. Webb City Junior High Show Choirs will be having their annual fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 21 in the Performing Arts Room.
Director Laurie Brower says both show choirs will perform twice. The Euphonics will be on stage at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., and the Polyphonics will perform at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
In addition to the fine singing, there will be desserts included in the $5 ticket price. Children 3 and under can attend for free.
There will also photo opportunities and a small gift shop to add to the fun. Tickets are available now from Brower at the school and will be available at the door if all seats aren’t sold in advance.
Anne Foos received her 75-year membership pin on Tuesday while attending a meeting of Webb City Chapter No. 204, Order of the Eastern Star, at the Masonic Lodge here.
Anne joined Eastern Star in 1946 at the youngest age possible, 18, in her hometown, Council Grove, Kan. The Kaw Mission Chapter was celebrating the 50th anniversary of its founding that year, and her mother, Beth Snider, was the worthy matron.
Anne moved to Healy, Kan., shortly after obtaining her teaching certificate at Emporia State University and for many years belonged to the OES chapter in Dighton, Kan. Chapter. She has belonged to the Webb City Chapter since moving here in 1980.
Joplin Little Theatre will host a Trunk or Treat event from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, on the theatre parking lot.
The event is free for all ages. There will be lots of candy, costumes and fun car decorations. Music will be provided by DJ Josh Shackles. It promises to be a safe way for children to trick-or-treat.

The Jasper County Health Department reported Wednesday that five more county residents have died because of COVID-19.
Those five deaths bring the county total to 227.
The recent deaths include: three women, one in her 60s, and two in their 50s; and two men, both in their 50s.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
