Cardinals play Saturday in the district tournament at Carl Junction
The Webb City Cardinals have won three of their last four volleyball matches as they enter the Class 4 District 12 tournament.
As the second seed, the Cardinals will play third-seeded Nevada at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Carl Junction, where the top-seeded host Bulldogs await the winner of the McDonald County-Monett match for the1 p.m. match Saturday.
The district final will be at 6 p.m. Monday.
The Cardinals won their final home match Thursday 3-1 (25-22, 24-26, 25-17, 25-17) against Republic.
Kearston Galarda and Brenda Lawrence led with 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Galardo also had 20 digs. Leading in assists was Kyah Sanborn, with 33.
At Carthage Tuesday, the Cardinals started out with a win but lost the next three sets (29-27, 21-25, 23-25, 19-25). Lawrence and Galardo both had 13 kills. Sophia Crane had 23 digs. Three others had double-digit digs, Kate Brownfield, 12; along with Jenna Noel and Kyah Sanborn, both 10. Sanborn had 31 assists.
