Current and past members of the football Chain Gang will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame Saturday night. At the game last Friday were Bruce Jones, George Mayes and David Lortz. Spencer Lortz is also on the current gang.

Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony set for Saturday



The 2025 class of Webb City R-7 Athletic Hall of Fame, including seven individual athletes, coach Jerry Kill, the 2005 baseball team and the football chain crew will be inducted Saturday.

The induction ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, in the Cardinal Dome commons.

This year’s inductees are:

  • Bill DeMoss – 1968
  • Blake Bard – 1998
  • Xin Lui – 1999
  • Katie Spieker Chapman – 2000
  • Nicole Greninger Moore – 2002
  • Chrissie Greninger Sargent – 2002
  • Callie Stanford Smothers – 2002
  • Coach Jerry Kill – 1989-90
  • 2005 Baseball Cardinals
  • Football Chain Crew – past and present

The Athletic Hall of Fame is a function of the school district and Webb City R-7 Schools Foundation. It was established in 2016 to commemorate a legacy of exceptional athletic performances and accomplishments, and to pay tribute to those indivfiduals and teams who have shaped the district’s athletic history.

Honorees are chosen by a selection committee comprised of current and retired administrators and coaches.
