Back to school in the ’50s

Looking at old class photos is a good way to remember when we were young. Here are two that have been brought in for us to copy at Webb City Area Genealogical Society.

Olivene Nichols donated her photo (above) of the 1958-59 fifth grade at West Side School.

(FRONT) Vicki Williams, Cheryl Hildreth, Lana Redman, unknown, unknown, Bruce Van Slyke, Stephen Brown, Stephen Hines, unknown, Deloris Simpson, unknown.

(MIDDLE) Janice Carver, Patsy Humbard, Kay Terry, Linda Alford, Frances Newby, Carol Hakes, Olivene Frownfelter, Virginia ?, Francis Whistner, unknown, unknown.

(BACK) Tommy Ellicott, Rodney Daniels, Steven Franklin, Larry Sidenstricker, unknown, Lynn Swoveland, Darrell Hickam, Clarence Winans, Joe Sanders, Richard Storm and James Lamb.

Unfortunately, names weren’t included with the 1954-55 fifth grade class (below), again at the former West Side School. It was brought in by Sharon Barton, a member of the Webb City High School Class of 1962. That’s an obvious clue that you might find her in one of the rows (third row, second from the right?).

Please let us know if you can identify any of the others. You can do so by sending a message to news@webbcity.net.
