Thursday, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m. is the deadline to order mums from the Webb City Band Boosters.
The mum sale is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year. And this year, students are raising money for their trip over spring break to Disney World in Florida.
The mums will come in 10-inch pots and are available in five colors: red, bronze, yellow, lavender and white. They cost $20 and must be paid for in advance.
Delivery will be at the high school on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The City of Joplin’s annual surplus auction is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Public Works Center, 1301 W. Second St.
Those interested in machinery and/or vehicles can view by appointment, starting Monday, Sept. 8. To make an appointment, call (417) 624-0820 ext. 1566. Other auction items will be available to view an hour before the auction starts.

Joplin will be one of several launch parties on Sept. 10 for the Respect Missouri Voters initiative petition.
Signatures will be gathered across the state to place a consitutional amendment on the November 2026 ballot to ban legislators from overturning the will of the people.
Respect MO Voters Coalition is a statewide, cross-partisan, volunteer-driven movement to protect and use Missouri’s citizen initiative process. The coalition works to ensure that voter-approved measures are respected and to build a more ethical, effective government that serves everyday Missourians.
