Band camp for the Webb City High School Marching Pride Band will conclude at 7 p.m. Friday with a preview of the band show, especially for parents.

Band director Butch Owens says he is pleased with the progress made during camp.

Portions of the show, “Lost in the Echoes,” will first be performed during halftime of the first home game, on Friday, Aug. 29, against Lebanon.

There will be three other home games before playoffs: Sept. 12 vs. Kickapoo; Oct. 3 (homecoming) vs. Republic, and Oct. 10 vs. Willard.

Owens explains the show, about finding yourself, will feature towers appearing as a forest.

The band’s first competition will be at the Sept. 20 Carl Junction Marching Festival.

The schedule also includes the:

  • Bentonville Marching Invitational, Oct. 4.
  • Bands of America Super Regional, Oct. 17-18 at St. Louis.
  • MSHSAA State Championships, Oct. 25 at Battle (Columbia).

The highlight of the school year for the band will be its trip to Disney World over spring break.
