Three local men recently made good on their promise to complete the Bataan Memorial Death March … and then donate contributions they collected to the Honor Flight of the Ozarks.
Friends Jonathan Dawson, David Pyle and Steve Taylor first completed the greuling 26.2-mile Bataan Memorial Death March (carrying a 35-pound rucksack) across the White Sands Missle Range in Las Cruces, N.M., in 2019.
They decided to do it again, but this time as a fundraiser for the Honor Flight of the Ozarks.
After completing the march on March 22, they presented a check in the amount of $52,559 to Honor Flight of the Ozarks officials on April 13 at the Webb City Elks Club.
