Big conference game on tap for homecoming

Webb City will be trying to catch conference leader Nixa on homecoming night Friday in the Cardinal Dome.
The Cardinals are 15-6 and 3-1 in Central Ozark Conference play. They were edged 61-57 in a makeup game Monday at Norwood and rebounded to win 67-36 at home Tuesday against the Carl Junction Bulldogs (4-17).
Nixa is 19-4 and hasn’t been beaten by a conference opponent.
Webb City girls will face Nixa in a home match Thursday. They are 8-9 after falling behind in the second half Monday at home against Carl Junction. The Bulldogs (17-5) won that conference match 55-40.
Conference play will continue next week at Neosho (girls Monday, boys Tuesday) and at Republic (girls Thursday, boys Friday).
Both boys and girls will play Tuesday, Feb. 22, at home against Carthage.
The Branson games, which were postponed Friday (girls and boys) will be made up Thursday, Feb. 24, at Branson.
Eight Webb City Cardinals signed college letters of intent Wednesday in the Cardinal Dome.
