Brenda Kay Stone

Feb. 11, 1966 – March 6, 2024

Brenda Kay Stone, of Oronogo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, March 6, 2024, at the age of 58. She was born on Feb. 11, 1966, in Sacramento, Calif., to the union of the late Joe and Shirley (Byler) Lynch. Her final days were spent in the comfort of her home in the loving embrace of her family, after months of declining health.

Brenda’s early years were spent in Sacramento, but her family moved to Jasper County, during her childhood, a place she would come to call home for the rest of her life. She was a dedicated worker, known for her tenure at Cardinal Scales in Webb City. Brenda also served her community by delivering prescriptions for Senior Care Pharmacy and by providing home cleaning services, always ensuring that those around her were well taken care of.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Joan Crabtree. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her three children: Tabatha Leonard and her husband Zach, Oronogo, Cory Boone and her husband Brian, Oronogo, and Cody Stone and his wife, Kelly, Oronogo; and her 13 grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Brenda’s love story continued with her longtime companion, Tom White, who stood by her through thick and thin along with his parents, Tom and Esther White. She is also survived by her brothers, Chris Lynch and David Lynch; her sisters, Linda Bland, Debbie Stiles, and Tammy Hoffman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in the Oronogo Cemetery, with Scott Stone officiating. Pallbearers were Cody Stone, Brian Boone, Gabriel Boone, Kaden Stone, Tim Thetge and Sam Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Joplin Humane Society or Golden Paws Pet Rescue. Arrangements were under the direction of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home.
