OBITUARIES

Brent James Harl, 48, of Joplin, passed away on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at his residence. He was born on Aug. 5, 1977, in Joplin.

He had resided in Joplin for the past two years, moving from Dallas, Texas, where he lived several years.

He worked in security research in the fraud department for various banks. He enjoyed watching documentaries, computer gaming and various other computer interests, and he loved to travel.

Survivors include his mother, Rebecca Harl, of Webb City; two brothers, Brock Harl, Riverside, Ala., and Andrew “Drew” Harl, Overland Park, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Harl.

Private family graveside services will be held at Carl Junction Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
