Webb City volleyball won its first match of the season against visiting Bentonville West by taking the deciding fifth set 15-8.

The two teams went back and forth during the first four sets, with Webb City winning 25-16, losing 25-17, winning 25-12 and losing 25-14.

Junior Kearston Galardo led the Cardinals with 11 kills, while senior Kenzie Storm and junior Brenda Lawrence both added 10 kills.

Sophomore Sophia Crane had 15 digs, followed by Storm and junior Kyah Sanborn, with 13 and 12 digs, respectively.

After traveling to Harrisonville Thursday and Rogers Heritage Tuesday, the Cardinals will be home again Thursday, Sept. 9, against Mt. Vernon.
