The Webb City Cardinals are coming on strong with their winning streak of 10, improving their overall record to 22-4.
Neosho’s Wildcats will be here Thursday to see if they can stop the Cardinals’ streak.
After a trip to Rogers Heritage Friday, the Cardinals will be home again Monday against Monett. The regular season will come to a close as Webb City goes to Joplin Tuesday and Hillcrest Thursday, May 14.
The district tournament will start Monday, May 18, at Willard.
On Tuesday, the Cardinals got an 11-4 road win at Ozark. Mason Young earned another win on the mound, going 4 1/3 innings while giving up 5 hits and 4 runs. He was relieved by Brock Hulstine and Braden Strickland, who both held the Tigers scoreless.
Meanwhile, Webb City hitters got a total of 8 hits and walked 7 times. Barret Weller got 3 RBIs off of his 2 hits. Trevor Lofland hit a double and had 2 RBIs. Young also had 2 RBIs.
Prior to the Ozark win, the Cardinals defeated Parkview 18-0, Pea Ridge, Ark., 3-0; and Aurora, 8-1.
