The Webb City Lady Cardinals are set to play in the Holiday Hoops at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Rolla against the Fox (Arnold, Mo.) Warriors. The tournament will continue through Sunday.
McDonald County kept its unbeaten record when the Mustangs came to the Cardinal Dome Thursday.
The Mustangs came out fast, taking an 18-6 first-quarter lead. The Cardinals outscored the Mustangs 17-11 in the second to trail 29-23 at halftime, and then they scored 20 points in the third to take a 43-39 lead.
Their rally, though, was stopped in the fourth as the Mustangs held the Cardinals to 5 points and won 52-48.
McDonald County’s Dakota O’Brien led all scorers with 25 points.
Addie Burns led the Cardinals with 15 points. Kenzie Horn added 10.
After the Rolla tournament, the Cardinals will be off until their Monday, Jan. 5, game at Nixa.
