The Webb City boys’ offense came awake in a big way Tuesday as they defeated McDonald County 96-29 in the Cardinal Dome. Those 96 points set a Dome record.
Seven Cardinals were in double figures. Hudson Matthiesen and Grayson Smith both put in 15 points. Trae Turner added 14, Holden Johnson 13, Jackson Adams 11, and Rylan Houston and Carson Anderson both contributing 10.
The 6-5 Cardinals held the visiting Mustangs to 15 points in the first quarter while they scored 62.
Next up will be a road trips to Hillcrest (9-5) Friday and then to Lebanon (3-8) on Tuesday.
The Cardinals opened Joplin’s Kaminsky Classic with a 67-45 loss to Life Prep, then defeated Poplar Bluff 51-46 before losing to Joplin 47-41 in the fifth-place game.
Their next tournament will be at Frontenac Jan. 22 – 24.
