Christian Brock relishes the run he’s about to score at home Tuesday against John Hersey High School.

Cards even record at 3-3 with 6-0 win

The Webb City Cardinals shut out the visiting John Hersey High School (Arlington Heights, Ill.) Huskies 6-0 Tuesday.

Webb City scored early as Cy Darnell got a leadoff single and came home on Shaun Hunt’s double. It quickly became a 3-0 game as Drew Vonder Haar hit a 2-run home run to left field.

In the fourth, Christian Brock got on base with a single. William Hayes put down a bunt single to advance Brock to second. Brock kept going and a wild throw allowed him to score. As the play ended, Hayes was standing on third base. He scored on Cy Darnell’s RBI single.

Hayes singled in the sixth, stole second, advanced to third on a balk and scored on Sam Weller’s sacrifice fly.

Landon Fletcher pitched into the fifth inning before he was relieved by Brett Korth.
