Webb City boys basketball’s record improved to 12-5 this week going into the homecoming matchup Friday night against Ozark in the Cardinal Dome.
The Cardinals, at home Tuesday, exactly reversed the outcome of their earlier game against Carthage (11-6). Back in December, during the final of the annual Carthage tournament, the Cardinals got a 70-59 “L.” This time, though, Webb City got a 70-59 “W.”
Barron Duda made 6 of 10 3-point attempts and led all scorers with 31. Omari Jackson added 16, and Holton Keith had 11.
Carthage’s Dylan Pugh made a half-court buzzer-beater to pull the Tigers within 11 points (46-35) of the hosts. Webb City came out in the third quarter to outscore Carthage 16-3 to go into the fourth with a 62-38 lead.
At Branson, the Cardinals scored 20 points or more each quarter to come home with a 86-67 win. They led 40-36 at the half and outscored the Pirates 22-10 in the third quarter.
Duda, with 19 points, led five Cardinals scoring in double figures: Keith, 13; Jackson, 12; Eli Pace, 11, and Gabe Johnson, 10.
The 6-12 Ozark Tigers will be here for homecoming Friday. Coronation will be between the JV and varsity games.

The Webb City girls also got a “W” against Carthage Tuesday in the home double-header.
Abby Sargeant led the Cardinals with 22 points, and Malorie Stanley added 10.
It was senior night for two team members, Mia Robbins and Stanley.
The 7-12 Cardinals take on the 9-9 Ozark Tigers Thursday in the Cardinal Dome.
