The Webb City Cardinals strung six-straight “W”s together before a they played a game to forget Tuesday at Nixa.
Webb City, 6-2, had a good weekend hosting a portion of the annual Bill O’Dell Festival. They defeated West Plains 6-1, and Warrensburg 10-9 and Oak Park 11-0.
Then they were shut out 12-0 in five innings Tuesday at Nixa.
Rain permitting, the Cardinals will travel to Waynesville Thursday before playing Liberty North and Liberty Saturday in the Red/Blue event at Parkview.
The next home game will be April 9 vs. Central.
Bolinger and Brown break school records
With two track-and-field meets in the book this season, two Cardinals have set new school records.
Louden Bolinger broke the 20-year-old shot put record at Willard with a throw of 58’7.1”.
Chasney Brown broke a nine-year-old record at McDonald County when she won the 200-meter sprint with a time of 25.69.
Tennis team goes 15-1 to win tourney
The Webb City tennis team went 15-1 in bracket play to win a tournament Tuesday at Pittsburg.
Soccer has 2 home games coming up
The girls soccer team won its second game Thursday 8-0 at McDonald County. But then they lost by the score Tuesday at Nixa, where the Eagles are unbeaten.
They will be home for two games next week: against Lebanon on Tuesday and against Branson Thursday.
