The annual Christmas Parade will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. It will begin at the east end of Main Street and end at Fountain Street.
Children are invited after the parade’s finished (at 6:15 p.m.) to have cookies with Santa at the Carterville Community Building, 209 E. Hall St.
The kids will be encouraged to decorate a cookie while enjoying cocoa. They’ll also be able to write a letter to Santa and send it by placing it in a special North Pole Mailbox.
Everything’s for free and sponsored by the Carterville Park Commitee.
The annual Webb City schools Christmas Concert will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Cardinal Dome.
You can call it an extravaganza because every band student in the district – from sixth through 12th grades – will be performing.
Director Butch Owens will conduct the high school fall concert band and the marching band. Also expect to hear the high school jazz band and perhaps the percussion ensemble.
The sixth, seventh and eighth grade bands will also perform.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
