Carterville Christmas Parade set for Dec. 6

Carterville citizens’ favorite holiday tradition is almost here!

The annual Carterville Christmas Parade will take place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6.

It will start at Casey’s and end at Fountain Street. It’s free to attend, and everyone is invited to line the streets, wave at Santa, and enjoy the lights and decorations displayed by local groups, churches, businesses and community partners.

Stay for Cookies with Santa after the parade

Once the parade wraps up, the holiday celebration will continue at the Carterville Community Building with Cookies with Santa from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

Kids are invited – for free – to decorate cookies, enjoy hot cocoa, meet Santa, and even write him a letter to drop in the special North Pole mailbox. And Santa promises to reply!

The Carterville Community Building is located at 209 E. Hall St.

Both events are functions of the Carterville Park Committee to make sure the community has a warm, family-friendly holiday season.

If you’d like more information or wish to participate in the parade, please message the Carterville Park Committee on Facebook, or you can also click here to sign up to participate in the parade.
