Webb City golfers Brooklyn Cartwright and Villet Haut competed in the state golf tournament Monday and Tuesday at nearby Twin Hills Golf Club.
Their coach, Jason Brown, said battled the wind, some bad shots and a talented array of golfers from the state of Missouri. In the end, Cartwright finished tied for 59th place and Haut placed directly behind her, tied at 63rd.
“I cannot say enough about their handling of the stress of golf,” says Brown. “Things do not go your way sometimes and how you respond in the face of that adversity is a skill that transfers to life.
“Both girls represented themselves and Webb City Golf with class and grace. Brooklyn (a senior) has been a huge piece of our program and will be missed. Violet (a sophomore) will be back in the state tournament next year and ready to compete at a high level.”
