It was a night of celebrating Webb City successes Tuesday during the annual Webb City Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet at the Adaline Acres event center.

Daniel and Kallie Ipock, owners of Ipock Electric and Solar, accepted the Business of the Year Award.

Mahonri Fawson, of Cinna-Roller, was honored as Entrepreneur of the Year. He and his mother, Paula Nelson, turned a vacant shop on Main Street into a magnet for those who love their variety of fluffin’ delicious cinnamon rolls.

WOW Printing, a company that’s grown from fine art reproduction to providing a full spectrum of printing and signage products, received the Customer Service Award.

Susie Crutcher’s name has been added to the base of the Robert J. Baker Champion Booster Cup. She’s been a booster of the city her entire life and is most recently leading the Wreaths Across America project, which will be held again in December at Mt. Hope Cemetery. City Clerk Kim DeMoss received the City Employee Award of the Year from Mayor Lynn Ragsdale, who noted that she will be missed when she retires in December.

Cardinal Teachers are (those holding awards) Jennifer Strickland, Christina Wells, Kim Christensen, Ashlea Bell, Sarah McDowell and Camie Schultz.

Superintendent Brenten Byrd presented Cardinal Teacher and Support Staff Awards to:

• Kim Christensen, a teacher at Heritage Preschool.

• Jennifer Strickland, a music teacher at Bess Truman Primary Center and Harry S Truman Elementary School.

• Sarah McDowell, a Webb City Middle School teacher.

• Ashlea Bell, a seventh-grade math teacher at Webb City Junior High School.

• Camie Schultz, a secretary for 20 years.

• Christina Wells, a bus driver since 1998.

Kim DeMoss was surprised when she was called up front to receive the City Employee of the Year award.

Chamber membership and marketing director Sydney Crider receives flowers and best wishes at her next job.

Sydney Crider was honored for serving three years as the chamber’s director of membership and marketing. She also received best wishes at her new position at Missouri Southern State University.

LeeAnn Crider is the chamber’s executive director.

Tony Perry, the new chamber president, presented an award to Jonathan Dawson for his years of serving as president.

Current board members in addition to Perry and Dawson are Jay Logal, Jason Keller, Sara Stuck, Jim Easton and Elizabeth Cantu. Advisory members are Brenten Byrd, Lisa Robinson, Carl Francis and Cade Higginbotham. Jan Workman is the Downtown Alliance liason.
