A custodian for the Webb City R-7 School District faces a felony charge of enticement or attempted enticement following his arrest on Thursday, May 1.
Police Chief Don Melton reports that Webb City officers were dispatched at 7:50 p.m. Thursday to the junior high campus on West First Street, where Logan B. Duncan, 25, of Joplin, was taken into custody for enticement of a child.
The arrest was prompted by Bikers Against Predators shooting a video alleging the accused had come to the school believing he was going to meet a 13-year-old girl.
On Friday, Duncan was charged by the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office with one count of felony enticement or attempted enticement of a child (suspect 21 years of age or older and child less than 15 years of age).
Duncan posted $150,000 bond and is under house arrest until his arraignment on June 11. Conditions of his release include no access to internet and no contact with anyone under 18.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
