Christmas concert

The annual Christmas concert by the instrumental music department was held Sunday in Cardinal Dome.
Bands from sixth grade up performed, and Assistant Superintendent Kevin Cooper read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” for the Cardinal Pride Band’s finale.

Five top-five debate finishers at Bolivar
Five Webb City’s speech and debate team competitors finished in the top five of events at the recent Bolivar tournament.
The top-five finishers were:
Kennah Scheurich, second Novice IX
Emma Combs, fourth Novice POI
Evan Hendrick, fourth Novice PF Debate
Nina Nguyen, fourth Novice PF Debate
Evan Garrison, fifth Varsity OO
These students earned new NSDA degrees:
Emma Combs- Degree of Excellence, 150+ points
Nina Nguyen-Degree of Honor for 75+ points
Evan Hendrick-Degree of Honor for 75+ points
MacKenzie Bockoven-Degree of Honor for 75+ points
Jordyn Dickey-Degree of Honor for 75+ points
Keyerra Wiles-Degree of Honor for 75+ points
Kennah Scheurich-Degree of Merit for 25+ points

Judges wanted Jan. 7–8
Debate coach Tiffany Bolin notes that Webb City and Carthage will host the Winter Classic Jan. 7–8.
The varsity portion of the event will be at Webb City, while novices will compete at Carthage. Over 15 schools are attending.
“We are excited, but we need judges,” says Bolin. She invites anyone interested in judging to email her at tbolin@wcr7.org.
