Webb City is done removing the remains of trees that were uprooted and damaged during the June 13 wind storm – except for the uprooted trees in the Webb City Cemetery.
The City Council voted on Monday to hire Simpson Lawn Care, at a low-bid price of $7,950, to remove the trees in the cemetery. Two other bids, in the $10,500 and $43,750, were received.
City Administrator Carl Francis declared the street-by-street tree removal process finished. However, residents can still call public works at (417) 673-6297 to arrange for individual pickup.
In addition to the unexpected costs involved with the tree cleanup, the limb shredder for composting has broken down. The council voted to fix it at the estimated cost of $23,098.
