Senior Colt Taylor and Freshman Louden Bollinger are representing Webb City at the Class 3 state wrestling championships in Mizzou Arena at Columbia.
In the first rounds Friday, Taylor will be wrestling in the 132-pound bracket. He qualified by taking third place in districts at Carl Junction. This is his second year as a state qualifier. His record is 35-9.
Bollinger placed fourth in districts. He’ll be wrestling in the 215-pound bracket.
There will be a send-off for them as they leave the high school Thursday morning.
Coach Shawn Klosterman took a contingent Cardinals from his Webb City High School team last week to the Class 1 girls state swim championships at St. Peters.
The team qualified in the following events:
The 200 and 400 free relay teams both advanced to the finals and finished in 15th place.
Then they all got snowed in at St. Peters.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
