Council approves 2% COLA for city employees

Bob Foos

City employees will be receiving a 2% cost-of-living adjustment to their pay checks following approval Monday by the Webb City Council.

The wage increase was included in the current budget (effective Nov. 1, 2025), pending sufficient revenue. It’s estimated the COLA will cost $64,535 for the remainder of the year.

Following another “yes” vote, City Attorney Troy Salchow is to draft an agreement for the city to accept two municipal parking lots from Paul Taylor, owner of the Nexus Event Center and Webb City Community Health Clinic.

Taylor is proposing to deed the Nexus lot (across Main Street from City Hall) to the city for 20 years in exchange for it being paved and striped. It’s estimated it will cost $27,000 to pave the lot.

The council also voted to allow Mayor Lynn Ragsdale sign an agreement (that went out for bid) for services provided by Clean Uniform Co.

The Planning and Zoning Commission has two requests on its agenda for 5:45 p.m. Monday, June 15.
