Thousands of cans (and ramen packages) collected during food drives at the schools were picked up Friday as part of the annual Webb City Ministerial Alliance Christmas Basket program.
Members of the churches brought the canned goods to the Emmanuel Baptist Church gym where they were sorted.
Churches will fill the Christmas baskets with the donated canned goods along with meat, dairy and bakery items that they add.
There are about 60 families that will receive the Christmas baskets this year.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
