Webb City Elks Lodge No. 861 is hosting a community breakfast Saturday as a fundraiser to provide a service dog for a disabled veteran.
Joining in the effort are members of American Legion Post 322 and Auxiliary and VFW Post 7630.
The breakfast will be served from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, 1010 N. Madison St.
All-you-can-eat pancakes, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee will be served for $12 per person.
The service dog will be purchased from Heartland Canines for Veterans.
Cheri Badgley, exalted ruler of the Elks lodge, says the goal is to reach $19,000 (split four ways) to fully cover the cost of the service dog.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
